Summer is here! The thermometer has hit 90 degrees and it’s hot and muggy. Preparing for the dog days of summer, we have put together a guide to the splash parks, pools, and beaches around the Quad Cities.  The Quad Cities offers several family-friendly places for water fun.  Many of them are completely free!

Check out this list to find a splash pad, swimming pool or beach near you!

Splash Pads

Schweibert Riverfront Park – Want amazing views of the Mississippi River and Arsenal Island while you cool off?  This place is fantastic and my kids favorite splash pad.  100 17th Street • Rock Island, Illinois

Bettendorf Family Museum – The water play area out back at the Family Museum isn’t meant for the kids to get wet in, but for some reason my children always leave drenched.  With lots of faucets, tubs, and water toys the children can explore and get close with water.  A fabulous extension to the many exhibits inside the Family Museum.  2900 Learning Campus Dr • Bettendorf, Iowa

Quad City Botanical Center – The NEW children’s garden addition includes a splash park area complete with a pint-size version of the Mississippi River.  2525 4th Avenue • Rock Island Illinois

Riverfront Park – Located along the Mississippi River in Muscatine this is the perfect place to get a little wet.  Grandview Avenue • Muscatine, Iowa
