What are the common changes my body will experience during pregnancy? I’ll check Google. In less than a second I receive 31,300,000 results. When should I start weaning my baby? I’ll ask Yahoo. Only 105,000,000 results. Where do I begin? Which link is best? How do I know the links are reputable? As parents we have very little time to actually spend in front of a computer looking for answers to our many questions, and we waste so much of that time sifting through mediocre content. I am excited to share with you a new way to skip the frustration of searching on your own. Now you can learn all about parenting through the internet’s best content through a wonderful online resource called MentorMob.
A couple months ago I was introduced to Kristin Demidovich, the CMO – Marketing Director of MentorMob, through a mutual friend and we started talking about parenting. Knowing I am a contributor for Quad City Moms Blog, she was interested in anything and everything I had to share about being a mom and how I learned, and continue to learn, about parenthood. My response was what most parents would probably say: asking family, friends, trial and error, and searching the internet. From here she introduced me to MentorMob, the current topics they had, and her plan for a parenting section. It didn’t take long to realize how perfect a Parenting Mob would be for moms (and dads) everywhere.
My first look at MentorMob was through the Photography Mob and I instantly fell in love with the website and got to work helping cultivate the Parenting Mob. A group of us came up with detailed lists of all the questions we have asked and will ask as parents. Next, our team of mothers, MentorMob professionals, doctors and a fitness expert spent time finding the best content. All of the hours of sifting through websites, asking and answering questions and reading through countless blogs enabled us to link together all of the best info for you, so now you don’t have to search anymore.
When we entered the editing phases of the Parenting Mob and I was able to view and use it, I loved how easy it was to use and how it flowed from one question and topic to another. My very first thought was, “I wish I had this when I was expecting the first time!” You can start at any level of parenthood from ‘expecting parent’ to ‘preschooler parent.’ What I love most most is that you start on the topic you are interested in and find yourself continually clicking next, as it guides you through everything you want to learn…even questions you haven’t thought about asking yet. From advice on medical issues to tips and tricks from parents, you can find answers to everything. Some of the sections I find most beneficial for readers are the topics no one wants to talk about and yet every woman really wants to know, like the recovery after delivery or the emotional side of breastfeeding.
In the content you will find links well known websites such as BabyCenter, Parenting.com and even the City Moms Blog sites. When you click through the pathways, you will see the content on simple screens, making it easy to read. You truly couldn’t ask for a more organized and efficient way to learn.
The Parenting Mob has just been released to the City Moms Blog community for a sneak peek and we would love for you to take a look and give your feedback. You can find the Parenting Mob at www.mentormob.com/parenting. We’d love to hear what you think and any topics you would like to see added. Add your thoughts and feedback in the comments below!
What I love most about the City Moms Blog Network is the ability to support and connect with mothers in your very own community. I would love for all of you to share this great resource with your mommy friends, whether they are an expecting mother or an expert on motherhood!
*I was not paid to write this post, but as I got more involved in watching this resource develop, I realized how helpful this resource could be for the QCMB community.
