this weekend | celebrate science at the putnam museum

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Of course you are!

You won’t want to miss the Putnam Museum’s birthday blowUP bash – tomorrow, April 11, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

It’s the first anniversary of the Science Center, and if you haven’t been yet – now is the time. (Check out some of our writers’ experiences with the Science Center – here and here.)

Henry Science Center 2

Haven’t been to the Science Center? Here’s what you’re missing.

About the Putnam’s Science Center

This permanent interactive space at the Putnam is part of the Museum’s focus on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education. The center includes more than 10,000 square feet and features more than 45 hands-on stations. It’s a great blend of learning and fun!

Expect for kids to learn about everything from aerospace and robotics to music, electricity, light and sound. And it’s great for all ages.

About the blowUp bash, Sat., April 11, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You won’t want to miss the great activities throughout the day tomorrow, including:

  • Giveaways: Win Ultimate Explorer passes, memberships, and more!
  • Science Demonstrations:Create toothpaste for elephants, light gummy bears on fire and more!
  • Birthday Cake: Get a piece of cake beginning at 10 a.m., while supplies last.
  • Junior First Lego League Demonstrations: From 12 to 2 p.m., several local junior first lego league teams will have creations on display!

Plus – watch Big Hero 6 in 3D

In celebration of National Robotics week, the Putnam will also be playing Big Hero 6 3D for a limited run from Thursday, April 9 to Sunday, April 12! This would be a great movie night with your family!

The Putnam Museum partnered  with Quad City Moms Blog to share about the Science Center. As part of this, we received something else of value to write it.
