Some of the best activities for kids in the Quad Cities take place at our local libraries and almost all of them are free! From giveaway book nights to story time to craft projects to library cards, our family has embraced all our area has to offer!
One of my proudest mom moments took place just last week when my 9 year-old-son logged on to the Rock Island Library website (with his own library card number and password), requested a book (The Titan’s Curse – Percy Jackson) and had it delivered to the 30/31 branch library near our home. Hurray! I have raised a library patron!!
There are so many amazing events that take place at the local libraries, it’s hard to know about them all. The easiest way I’ve found (besides hearing about events from momversations with my village) is to Like/follow local libraries on Facebook and sign up for their email newsletters. To help you out, I’ve gathered links here:
Most of these libraries also have a Twitter account and some even have Instagram, so if those are platforms you use, be sure to check them out. Most are prominently displayed on the homepages of the library websites.
Did I miss any of your favorite local libraries (because we all know the Quad Cities are more than four cities!)?
